If possible, come to your appointment with a clean face free of oils, makeup, and debris.
Please be sure to book your treatment at least 4 weeks in advance of any special occasions or holidays. Results typically take 4 to 14 days to appear; bruising might be apparent during that time frame.
Do not receive neurotoxin injections if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
To ensure your appointment goes smoothly and to minimize the chance of bleeding or bruising at the injection site, please avoid all blood-thinning medications and supplements for 3-7 days before your appointment. This includes over-the-counter medications such as Aspirin®, Ibuprofen®, Motrin®, and Aleve®.
If you have a cardiovascular history, please check with your doctor prior to stopping the use of Aspirin.
For 1-2 weeks prior to appointment, avoid herbal supplements such as Garlic, Vitamin E, Ginko Biloba, St. John's Wort, and Omega-3 capsules as these may increase the risk of bleeding and bruising.
Please notify our office in advance if you're taking Coumadin or Plavix or have a history of herpes simplex virus in the areas being treated.
Do not consume alcohol at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Do not use neurotoxins if you are allergic to any of their ingredients or have a skin infection at the planned injection site.
Contraindications also include: Pregnancy, Breastfeeding, Allergies to components in neuromodulators.
Dermal Fillers
Prior to Treatment
If possible, come to your appointment with a clean face free of oils, makeup, and debris.
Avoid alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours before your treatment.
Cease taking any anti-inflammatory or blood thinning medications, supplements, such as aspirin, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, or other NSAIDs for a period of 2 weeks before your appointment.
Schedule your dermal Filler appointment at least 2 weeks before any significant events. The treated area may experience swelling, redness and/or bruising during that time. Outcomes may vary.
Discontinue using Retin-A 2 days before and 2 days after your treatment.
If you have a rash, cold sore or blemish on the area to be treated, please reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance.
If you have a history of cold sores, inform your provider prior to treatment.
If you are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, you are not a candidate for dermal fillers.
